Bellwether
The Bellwether Apartments, a new four-story mixed-use building, recently opened at 20 Bellwether Way along Bellingham’s waterfront.
This 43,400-square-foot building has 42 affordable and market-rate apartment units. A 4,100-square-foot commercial space is provided on the ground floor. Amenities include a shared community clubroom and kitchen, bike room with 20 stalls, and a flexible multi-use space. Units range from studios to two-bedrooms and offer expansive views.
The project team worked with the Port of Bellingham to maintain shoreline conditions and improve an existing trail connecting the building to restaurants, retail businesses and parks in the surrounding area.
There are 57 surface parking spaces, with three electric vehicle charging stations. Sustainable landscaping elements include rain gardens and native plantings to control and filter stormwater runoff.
