Mercedes-Benz dealership starts building Autohaus in Lynnwood
Mercedes-Benz of Lynnwood is breaking ground today on a 40,000-square-foot car dealership at 17800 Highway 99 in Lynnwood.
The facility will meet the new Mercedes-Benz Autohaus design criteria, which includes curved glass facades, steel overhangs, Mercedes’ signature blue columns and a high-tech service department.
Only two other Mercedes dealers in the state — in Bellingham and Spokane — have the Autohaus design.
When it opens in the summer of 2010, the dealership will have a 26-bay service center, a 5,000-square-foot showroom for eight cars, a 4,100-square-foot showroom for three cars on the second floor and rooftop parking for 91 cars.
The Lynnwood dealership opened in 2005 and has outgrown its leased space at 20515 Highway 99.
Bellingham-based Exxel Pacific is the general contractor. The design team includes Marcatects of Escondido, Calif., CG Engineering of Edmonds and The Jay Group of Marysville. Major subcontractors include Earthworks Northwest, ECI, R&H Mechanical, Washington Ironworks and Wolfe Plumbing.
Mercedes-Benz of Lynnwood is owned by John Halata and Phil Smart.
