Cypress
Cypress, at 120 Broadway in Seattle’s Yesler neighborhood, has 237 apartments, with 48 designated to be affordable for households earning 65% to 80% of area median income.
The seven-story building has a fitness center, pet area, 8,000 square feet of retail space, and a rooftop lounge and deck with a barbecue kitchen. It is targeting LEED Platinum and Salmon-Safe Certification.
The main staircase is a sunlit space overlooking Yesler Terrace Park, while natural materials such as cedar and brick evoke Pacific Northwest regional architecture. Outside, there are trellises and covered seating areas scattered throughout.
Roof decks and a courtyard provide spaces for residents to lounge and enjoy a quiet view of the city.
