550 units to start soon in Shoreline
SHORELINE — Shea Properties will break ground soon on a 550-unit apartment project, according to general contractor Exxel Pacific.
Ankrom Moisan Architects designed the seven-story proposal for 104 N.E. 145th St. (the legacy address, possibly to change), about a block west of Interstate 5.
Shea didn’t respond to a DJC query, and renderings have never been shared. The project will include about 499 structured parking stalls, contributing to a project size of some 650,000 square feet.
The unnamed project has passed through design review, and all permits seem to be in place. Public records show a recent $125 million construction loan from US Bank.
Shea has said it’s targeting LEED Platinum certification for the project. It’s to include about 110 units affordable to households making up to 70% of area median income, under the city of Shoreline’s multifamily tax exemption program.
The corner site, at First Avenue Northeast, is a short walk east to the future Shoreline South/148th Station, where light rail service may begin in 2024 or 2025.
